Everyone I spoke to was thrilled with the evening .” - Marilyn Nigro “Cathy and I would like to express our thanks and our congratulations on the excellent Tribute last night. What a pleasure! We're still "all abuzz" about what we heard. As well as the music, we got a glimpse inside the culture of great music performance. Right here in Huronia. It reflects well on you, John (French), as the producer, for your ability to make the link to the artists and to orchestrate what is possibly the greatest collection of musicians ever appearing together in this community.“ - Andrew R. MacRae, Ph.D., FCACB. Plus the evening included the opportunity to build the John Arpin Endowment Fund. Earnings from the Fund will be used for bursaries to promising music students in Huronia who are struggling to cover costs. Huronia Communities Foundation AGM
Huronia Communities Foundation Making an ImpactIt was a huge success for the Huronia Communities Foundation as they held their Annual General Meeting Thursday, September 28 at the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre. With more than one hundred in attendance, the Foundation proudly granted funds to 11 recipients totaling almost $ 30,000 before moving into the formal AGM portion of the day. In many cases, grants went to small, lesser-known groups who were thrilled to be recognized and financially supported. The importance of philanthropy was clearly illustrated by Dr. Pam Chart as she highlighted the impact of community partnerships while Andrei Manoukovski inspired the group, sharing his approach to successful and dynamic events like the Cedar Ridge Pops Concert.
